This is apparently John H. (HENRY) LEWIS, who wrote the book, recollections
John H. (HENRY) LEWIS b. 1835 Portsmouth, Virginia, was one of my GGGrandfather's. He died 1917 in Washington DC. He wrote one book called "Recollections from 1860 to 1865". which recalls his life in a UNION prison, 4 times and also Gettysburg.
